چکیده

This paper presents an overview of auditory display (the use of non-speech sounds to convey information) applied to the study of molecular properties in human–computer interfaces, particularly in virtual environments. Chemistry researchers and students have difficulty in analysing and comprehending molecular structure and bonding and other biomolecular characteristics. Research reports that non-speech sounds have been useful in identifying trends in gene sequences and molecular characteristics, which when used in virtual environments, can facilitate comprehension of complex relationships that are difficult to perceive through visualisation alone. q 2006 Elsevier B.V. The Effect of One Teach-One Assist Model of Co-teaching on Iranian EFL Learners’ Reading Comprehension

Co-teaching is a method that two teachers work together and deliver the instruction in the same classroom to a heterogeneous group of learners. This study was an attempt to find out the effect of one teach-one assist model of co-teaching on Iranian EFL learners’ reading comprehension. To this end, a quasi-experimental design with the pre-test, post-test, and control group was employed and 35 fe...

Iranian EFL Learners L2 Reading Comprehension: The Effect of Online Annotations via Interactive White Boards

This study explores the effect of online annotations via Interactive White Boards (IWBs) on reading comprehension of Iranian EFL learners. To this aim, 60 students from a language institute were selected as homogeneous based on their performance on Oxford Placement Test (2014).Then, they were randomly assigned to 3 experimental groups of 20, and subsequently exposed to the research treatment af...

Comprehension of Speech Presented at Synthetically Accelerated Rates: Evaluating Training and Practice Effects

The ability to monitor multiple sources of concurrent auditory information is an integral component of Navy watchstanding operations. However, this leads to attentionally demanding environments. The present study tested the utility of a potential solution to listening to multiple speech communications in an auditory display environment: presenting speech serially at synthetically accelerated ra...

Reading Strategies Used by Iranian EFL Learners While Reading Academic Texts

The major aim of this study was to explore the nature and frequency of the reading strategies used by the EFL learners while reading academic texts. Normally, students tend to read all the information provided in reading materials. This study explores whether learners use reading strategies to assist them in reading comprehension. There was a sample of 45 English language (EFL) learners from Is...
